  1. The Botswana Government has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Botswana Emergency Water Security and Efficiency Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Contract[1] for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of a 50m3 galvanised steel ground tank and booster pump station at Mokatako village.

 

  1. The Water Utilities Corporation now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 50m3 galvanized steel (GS) ground tank on dwarf walls and a booster pump station including associated works. The booster pump station should be able to pump water to the existing elevated tank at Mokatako Village. The proposed booster pump station will be located in Phitsane Molopo, at the village water supply storage reservoir site. The booster will be pumping water to Mokatako village, which is about 14 km away. The Project is a Design, Supply & Install Contract.

 

  1. Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

 

  1. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Water Utilities Corporation, Keneilwe Chengeta, email: procurement@wuc.bw; and inspect the bidding document during Office hours 0800 to 1600 hours (Botswana time) at the address given below.

 

  1. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of P1000 or USD100. The method of payment will be direct deposit in favour of Water Utilities Corporation or cash. The account number for payment is Water Utilities Corporation, Barclays Bank Industrial Branch, Gaborone, Current Account No: 1447860 or direct payment at the address below. The document will be collected at Water Utilities Corporation upon payment of non-refundable fee.

 

  1. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 30th January 2020. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 30th January 2020.

 

  1. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration.

 

  1. A Non-compulsory Pre-Bid Meeting shall be held at Mokatako Village on the 20th December 2019. The Meeting point is Phitshane- Molopo Post office at 1000 hours.

 

  1. Local bidding companies should be registered with Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) in the following codes: PPADB Code 05 Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Works; Sub code 01: Water and Sewage Treatment, or Code 03 Civil Engineering Works; Sub code 06 Water Supplies, Sanitation reticulation and irrigation Works. International companies should submit relevant company registration documents to qualify.
